This is my first serger and I was a little intimidated by the thoughts of learning to thread it etc. but this was SO E_Z just like the name implies.
Color coded guide is right there on the door and the instructional DVD answered all my questions even before I used it for the first time. I was up and serging in just a few days and feeling confident about adjusting the threads and tensions to create different looks. I love this machine and think it was a great value. Nancy Z products ROCK!

 Not sure if I'm going to get one! May 27, 2009
I have read all your reviews and it seems that all are satisfied with this Serger. However, there is something that I would want to know since I'll be giving this as a gift and she lives in different country. How much voltage does it use? 110 volts or 220 volts? Because as far as I know, even if you use an adaptor to change the voltage, it will not last longer than expected. Please help!

I received my Sewing With Nancy SWN10 EZ Lock Serger machine within the time expected, packed safely and securely. I had never used a serger before, but, always wanted one. Soon, I had it out of the box and was learning to thread it. This is a heavy and sturdy machine. I tried it out on different fabrics, made adjustment and I really got the hang of it. I couldn't believe how user friendly this machine could be. The handbook and DVD were very helpful. I would recommend this machine to anyone that was looking for a good serger.

I have tried everything to resolve my problems with this serger.
The left needle (red) keeps snapping in half. The tension is fine, the needle is the right grade.. it keeps hitting the metal plate. This machine has left me in a tight spot, and I will purchase the brother.. which I will pay 50$ extra shipping for because I need my machine by friday.
I called their customer service, and they want me to pay for the shipping, and wait for it to be repaired. I dont have that kind of time.
I suggest, spending your money a little more wisely.
