Sewing dictionary Oct 30, 2008 As always, I am very pleased with the ease of ordering on-line, the promptness of the delivery and the all around service!

Great Reference for Needleworkers Mar 25, 2008 Just because we do needlepoint doesn't mean we are familiar with other types of
needlework. How often do you come across a term and wonder what it means? How often
do you find yourself wondering when looking at a book from England whether duo canvas
is the same as Penelope canvas? (It is.)
But try to find this information and frustration ensues. There aren't really good on-line
sources, most reference books handle only one or two types of needlework. I have long
wanted some kind of reference which would help me find this information.
This little book with the long title, exactly fits the bill. It defines, often with illustrations,
terms in appliqué, crochet, sewing, embroidery, quilting, and lots more. Terms in use in
both the US and UK are defined. The definitions are clear and well-written, and often
include the term in other languages as well as pointers to other terms in the book.
While it isn't going to take the place of your stitch dictionaries and needlepoint reference
books. this little book deserves a place in your needlework bookshelf.
Too general to be helpful Dec 11, 2007 Title made it sound good, but the book tries to cover too much territory in too little depth. Terms from
applique, crochet, embroidery, knitting, quilting and sewing are all mixed in. I was especially interested in
crochet terms and definitions, but there isn't much useful here. Really a surface treatment. Probably more useful for embroiderers than anyone else.
